Portia Turner, MPH
Project Data Analyst - Collaborative PCMN CMMI Project
Portia Turner serves as Project Data Analyst of the Health Care Innovation Award (HCIA) from the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Innovation at TransforMED. The HCIA was granted to TransforMED to demonstrate the Patient Centered Medical Neighborhood (PCMN) model of care to expand integration and the coordination of care in the medical home model.
She came to TransforMED from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City where she worked as a Health Statistical Analyst. Portia developed standard reports and ad hoc queries related to cross-functional reporting and analysis which lead to disease management opportunities and improvements in the quality and cost of care. Earlier experiences in Portia’s career included providing administrative support and customer service to healthcare providers in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Her areas of interest are community-based participatory research, health disparities research, disease prevention and wellness promotion.
Portia is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified. She earned a Master of Public Health from Kansas University Medical Center. She earned a Bachelor of Sociology, Bachelor of Liberal Arts and minor in Chemistry from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
