Margaret N. Howieson

In her role with TransforMED as Administrative Assistant, Margaret participates in all aspects of the business, from working with financial spreadsheets, to editing website content, to coordinating meetings, to entering and analyzing research data. She welcomes visitors to the TransforMED office, and supports all other TransforMED staff in accomplishing their myriad tasks.

Margaret held many and varied positions in healthcare administration, analysis, and internal consulting at Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound in Seattle before returning to Kansas City in 1998 to work for UnitedHealthcare. She has a broad knowledge of administrative, office, and systems processes, as well as indicator development and report design. In addition to her administrative experience, Margaret has functioned as a change agent and group facilitator, and has worked with teams developing quality improvement models and managing patient populations. She spent several years away from healthcare working with students at the Kansas City Art Institute and managing a large urban apartment building, before her return to the healthcare field at TransforMED.

Margaret holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, and studied systems theory in the Whole Systems Design Masters program at Antioch-Seattle.
