James L. Arend, MBA

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

As CFO and COO, Jim is responsible for the daily financial and administrative functions of TransforMED. Jim began his career with TransforMED as a Practice Enhancement Facilitator for the National Demonstration Project. In this role he assisted primary care practices with implementing the TransforMED Patient Centered Model of Care.

Jim has held various financial positions during his career including Chief Financial Officer of a Kansas City-based financial institution. He has extensive financial analysis experience. He has also been involved in numerous "organizational change initiatives" throughout his career. He was instrumental in the development of the continuous improvement efforts for a local "Fortune 100" company; including development of training materials, team training and team facilitation. Jim also used his change management skills as a consultant for the development of a $6 billion joint venture for three competing organizations. He assisted the new company and its members in establishing its organizational structure. Jim holds an MBA in Finance from Rockhurst University.
