Christine Johnson, PhD, PMP

Practice Enhancement Facilitator

In her role with TransforMED as a Practice Enhancement Facilitator, Christine Johnson assists family medicine practices with implementing the TransforMED Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Christine has more than 20 years experience implementing change management programs in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. This experience includes designing and implementing strategic plans, developing change management programs, and leading mission critical projects. Christine directed a module of the National Institute of Health Infrastructure Project in 1999 to determine ways the Internet can be used to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of medical practices.

Christine was one of the original facilitators on TransforMED's National Demonstration Project (NDP) implementing the PCMH model with practices around the country. She utilized data and observations gleaned from the NDP to better understand the process of change in primary care practices moving toward the goal of becoming Medical Homes. As a TransforMED facilitator, Christine has in-depth experience working with practices in many areas of focus such as practice efficiencies, team-building, leadership development, practice finance developing and understanding practice metrics.

As part of her work in transforming practices, she has built and led strong teams and revitalized organizations. The results of her work have led to the creation of greater workplace satisfaction, efficiency, accuracy and cost effectiveness. An expert in change management, Christine brings social dynamics expertise to assist health care professionals as they move through change. In addition, Conflict Resolution and negotiation have been integral aspects of all Christine's endeavors.

Christine has a PhD in Sociology with specialization in Medical Sociology, Organizational Behavior and Social Psychology. Her certifications include PMP (Project Management Professional), Facilitator (Development Dimensions International), and Myers-Briggs (Lee Hecht Harrison). Her memberships include: Organizational Development Network, International Society for Performance Improvement, Kansas City Project Management Institute and the American Society for Training and Development.
