Welch Allyn has partnered with TransforMED to introduce Welch Allyn's first professional consulting program, EHR (Electronic Health Record) Preparation and Selection Services. The program is designed to guide medical practices systematically through the complex process of EHR vendor selection. Studies have shown that physicians and their office staffs struggle with the process of selecting an EHR vendor and are fearful that the wrong choice may result in significant losses in revenue and productivity during the implementation process.

The key to making the most of your EHR selection process is preparation. And most practices do not have the knowledge or time to prepare very well.

Welch Allyn can help. The Welch Allyn EHR Prep-Select Service can assist practices in systematically preparing for the significant changes that occur with the introduction of an electronic health record. Additionally, we help navigate through the confusing process of comparing, evaluating and selecting an EHR vendor. We have developed three (3) flexible service offerings designed to fit any practice's unique needs (and budget).

EHR Prep-Select

A high-value/low cost "learn how to do-it-yourself" starter kit designed to guide any customer through of the complex EHR preparation and selection process.

The program is organized into a comprehensive 10-step project that is further broken down into nearly (40) individual assignments that are easy to manage and execute. The program content in its entirety is integrated into a unique web portal -- The Prep-Select Project Manager -- that contains electronic worksheets, templates, surveys and tables designed to streamline data entry, data analysis, project tasks and vendor communication.

The easy-to-use Prep-Select Program also includes 4-hours of complimentary consulting with an experienced industry expert to assist in planning and organizing their individual selection project.

This combination of expert professional consulting services and the Online Project Manager provide the necessary elements to insure that each project is a success.

EHR Prep-Select Plus

Some Prep-Select clients may uncover the need for additional consulting time to help supplement internal resources required to complete an EHR selection project. In such circumstances, Through the Welch Allyn Prep-Select Plus Program, practices may be interested in additional bundles of consulting support to help navigate this lengthy preparation and selection process. These consulting bundles are available in half and full-day increments. The extra hours can be used to supplement an unexpected staffing shortfall, or simply to break through a particularly difficult project issue. Whatever the circumstance, "Ad-Hoc" consulting bundles are a flexible and affordable means to overcome unexpected project obstacles in a timely manner.

EHR Prep-Select Premier

Some physician practices recognize up front that they do not have the time or expertise to manage an EHR preparation and selection project without assistance. With the Welch Allyn Prep-Select Premier Program, our expert consultants roll up their sleeves and work side-by-side with you from start to finish in preparing for and selecting an EHR solution. We'll continue to leverage the efficiencies enabled through our program organizational structure and on-line web tools, but Welch Allyn consultants will be the primary project managers for your practice.
