Dr. William Bailey on how he uses Delta-Exchange

Hi, I'm William Bailey, a solo family physician who has committed to transforming my practice into a patient-centered medical home. 

One of the biggest challenges I faced as a solo family physician was gaining access to the experts and resources necessary to transform my practice to a medical home. Delta-Exchange provides the tools I need, when I need them, and is very user-friendly.

Delta-Exchange connects me with other physicians from across the country to share challenges, experiences and successes. The site also has put me in touch with experts in the field of patient-centered medical home transformation, including physicians and facilitators who participated in TransforMED's PCMH national demonstration project.

Delta-Exchange allows me to seek and provide feedback on a variety of topics. For example, I recently participated in a discussion on Delta-Exchange in which a member was curious how they might implement and bill group visits. I recently implemented group visits in my practice, so I was able to provide information to that member and also review feedback from other members on how they conduct and bill for group visits.

Delta-Exchange also helps me maintain change momentum. As a solo doctor, I don’t have other providers in the office that I can rely on for advice, solutions and motivation. The people I interact with on the Delta-Exchange site encourage me and provide tips on how to make my changes "stick."

Delta-Exchange essentially serves as a "toolbox" for building a medical home. The online seminars, forms and templates have proven especially useful in helping me implement new processes.

Lastly, Delta-Exchange isn’t just a resource for clinical and practice management issues. It provides a forum where I can express my opinion on important issues. I am also learning new ways to make my voice heard as we demand higher quality and more affordable health care for our patients.
